The Europe-China Fair was initially founded by the European Commission and made its debut in China in 2002. The fair has taken place in Chengdu since the second session. After more than 20 years of development, it has grown to be the largest China-Europe bilateral cooperation gathering held in China, attracting the highest number of EU member states and the widest variety of European businesses for investment, trade, and technology collaboration.
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union. Leaders of the two sides met in Beijing this July, reaching a consensus on deepening EU-China relations, managing differences in a constructive manner, and achieving more positive outcomes in bilateral cooperation that is balanced, reciprocal and mutually beneficial. As the world’s second and third largest economies, Chinese and European economies are highly complementary and their interests are deeply intertwined. According to data from China’s Ministry of Commerce, in 2024, China and the EU were each other’s second-largest trading partners, with bilateral trade accounting for over one-third of global trade volume. Although unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise, trade frictions are intensifying, and economic globalization is facing headwinds, strengthening trade and investment cooperation as well as interactive exchanges remains the inevitable choice for both China and the EU. Chinese and European businesses will also embrace more and further collaboration opportunities.
Under the theme “Mutual Trust and Connectivity, Shared Success and Prosperity”, the 18th Europe-China Fair will feature a diverse array of activities, including the opening ceremony, plenary sessions, five industry-themed parallel sessions, B2B matchmaking, Linking Europe Exchange, government-enterprise dialogues, as well as visits to industry parks and leading enterprises. For detailed schedule, please refer to the attachment.
The Fair is expected to attract participants from over 20 European countries and more than 600 guests from both Europe and China, including government officials, representatives from chambers of commerce, renowned enterprises and SMEs from various sectors, investment and financial institutions, and experts and scholars, as well as the media.
